Grabbing the Overall Lead

MM Technology Factory Team Takes the Overall Lead

Stage 4 of Dakar 2026 was a big one – and a great day for the MM Technology factory team. Over 452 demanding kilometres in the AlUla region, Martin Macik, Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda delivered a strong, confident drive, took the stage win, and moved into the overall lead. Dunes, rocks, and high speeds – the MMT EVO4 handled it all, and the crew stayed out front from start to finish.

This stage also marked the start of the marathon section, which means no mechanics, no service trucks, and no outside help at the end of the day. Just the crew, their truck, a basic bivouac under the open sky, and ration packs for dinner. Exactly the kind of Dakar challenge that shows what both people and machines are really made of.

The terrain changed constantly throughout the day, from fast, sandy sections to technical, rocky passages, but the MM Technology crew stayed focused and maintained a solid pace. They completed the full distance without major issues and reached the marathon bivouac safely. The second half of the marathon awaits tomorrow with another 371 kilometres still to go – and with the overall lead currently just under five minutes, Dakar 2026 is very much wide open.
