Stage 5 of Dakar 2026 was all about pace, focus and nerves of steel. Martin Macik, Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda delivered a fast and confident drive, set the quickest time of the day and extended their lead at the top of the overall standings. As the second part of the marathon stage, it was another big Dakar test – and the MM Technology factory crew handled it exactly the way they wanted.
The 371 kilometres towards the Ha’il region mixed flat-out sections with some seriously tricky navigation. Hidden waypoints and tricky directions caught out many teams, but the MM Technology crew stayed sharp. Apart from one small moment that required a quick correction, they stuck to the roadbook, kept the pace high and held their own in close fights where every metre mattered.
The final kilometres were run at full throttle. Even a tyre change couldn’t slow them down, and both the truck and the crew crossed the finish line in great shape. Another stage win, another confidence boost – and with the overall lead growing, the team heads into the next part of the rally in exactly the place they want to be.
