Up to Second Overall After Stage 3

Martin Macik moves to 2nd place in overall standings after Stage 3

Stage 3 of Dakar 2026 delivered one of the most varied days so far. Over 422 kilometres, the route combined smaller dunes, wide open plains, and demanding mountain sections around AlUla. Alongside the tough terrain, navigation played a key role, requiring full concentration and quick decision-making throughout the day.

Martin Macik, Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda stayed composed from start to finish. The stage featured fast sections, tight battles, and several tricky navigational moments, including hidden waypoints that caught out many crews. Even when they had to briefly turn back in the mountains, the MM Technology factory crew kept their rhythm and avoided any major losses.

In the final kilometres, a bit of improvisation was needed, but thanks to strong teamwork, calm heads, and a reliable performance from the rally truck nickname “Joseph,” the crew reached the finish just a few minutes behind the leaders. This consistent drive moves the MM Technology factory team up to second place overall, setting them up perfectly for the demanding marathon stage that lies ahead.
