Martin Macík to race the Dakar alongside Michal Valtr

MM Technology is strengthening its Factory Team. Alongside Martin Macík, Michal Valtr and his Valtr Racing Team crew will now race for MM Technology. Their joint debut will come soon at Rallye du Maroc 2026, followed by Dakar 2027, where they will compete side by side. Czech fans will therefore have two MM Technology crews to cheer for at the Dakar.

Michal Valtr and his father Jaroslav Valtr have extensive experience with MMT trucks, and MM Technology and Valtr Racing Team share a long-standing history. Their first MMT EVO 1 marked the beginning of the partnership between the two teams, with Michal going on to compete in several races with the MMT truck, including two Dakar starts. The partnership is now entering a new chapter. Michal and his crew will join the MM Technology Factory Team, with Michal racing an MMT truck.

“Michal and I have known each other for a long time, not only from the race track. I know how seriously he approaches racing, and I’m happy that we can now join forces at MM Technology as well. We want to be fast on the track, work together and support each other.

MM Technology wants to give young talented drivers opportunities and help them develop further. We have experience we can pass on to them, but at the same time, we believe they can help us move forward too. Michal’s arrival is another step in this direction,” says Martin Macík Jr.

Martin Macík and Michal Valtr will first race side by side at Rallye du Maroc, which takes place from 28 September to 3 October 2026. For Martin, the race will also be the first competitive test of the latest MMT EVO 5.

“I’m thrilled by the opportunity and I’ll give it everything I’ve got. After my previous experience with the EVO 1, I’m really looking forward to seeing what the Valtr Racing Team crew can achieve behind the wheel of the latest MMT truck specification. I believe Martin and I can form a strong and successful team,” adds Michal Valtr.

The partnership is currently planned for Rallye du Maroc 2026 and Dakar 2027. Both sides believe these two races will lay the foundations for a long-term partnership.
