Stage 9 brought a tough test for the MM Technology factory crew as the first half of the marathon stage delivered everything Dakar is known for – dunes, mountains, gravel, and rocky sections. Over 410 kilometres in isolation mode, Martin Macik, Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda pushed on despite complications and made it to the finish, keeping the rally very much alive.
After a solid start, the crew was forced into an unplanned stop in the mountains due to a mechanical issue likely linked to the incident in Stage 8. It cost them valuable time and meant a long, demanding day on the course, but the most important thing is that they reached the bivouac safely and are ready to continue.
Dakar can turn in an instant, and that’s exactly what makes it the Dakar. The MM Technology crew remains in sixth overall, focused, motivated, and determined to fight back in the stages ahead. We’re not done yet – thank you to all our fans and partners for standing with us.
