The MM Technology factory crew with the new EVO 4 truck, Benny, dominated the 26 km long prologue of the Rallye du Maroc and enters the rally from first place. On Monday, Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda will start the first regular stage covering 268 km. It will lead through rough and rocky terrain and will be especially challenging for the machinery.

A promising start to a tough rally

The first taste of Moroccan terrain in the form of a prologue was 26 km long. The black and white MM Technology truck with the crew consisting of Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda had only a short time to stretch after the private test before the start of the rally. They will take to the start line on Monday and will put their truck to the proper test on the 268 km long route. “I am really happy with Benny. We did great in the prologue, even though the route was unpleasantly narrow and rough for the trucks. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s first full stage and I believe that we didn’t underestimate our preparation for the rally”, says pilot Martin Macik Jr.

First two stages promise challenging terrain

After the warm-up of the prologue, the participants of this year’s Rallye du Maroc will move on to the Zagora area, where the first two stages of the event itself await them. Both of them promise rough, rocky terrain that will test the durability of the vehicles and tyres. “Due to the flooding in the area, the organizers have modified the route of the first two stages, so it will be very tough, just like the prologue was. But Benny managed it perfectly. Everything is working as it should, the Prometeon tyres are also holding up great, so we are pushing on happily,” says David Svanda, MM Technology mechanic.

Rallye du Maroc doesn’t go easy on the navigators

In total, all crews will have 1,512 km to cover at race pace, during which they will move from the hard, rocky surface of the Zagora area to the soft and sandy conditions of the Mengoub area. “Although the prologue was relatively short, the organizers did not spare us navigation-wise. It was quite twisty, we changed direction every few hundred meters. But I like that, so I’m looking forward to what they prepared for us in the regular stages”, says navigator Frantisek Tomasek.
