On Sunday, 24thNovember, a traditional MM Technology “Off to Dakar” event took place in Sedlcany’s town square. Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda bid farewell to their supporters, who provided a great send off to the vehicles heading to Barcelona. There, all machinery will undergo scrutineering. Fans will have another opportunity to meet the team in person in the spring during the “Dakar Obsessed Talkshow” tour.
Signing Benny for good luck
The meeting in Sedlcany was characterized by the friendly atmosphere typical of MM Technology events. Fans had the chance to personally say goodbye to the crew and their vehicles, which included the factory truck Benny and accompanying support vehicles. Dakar fans could also meet David Pabiska, who will once again compete in the Dakar Rally on a motorcycle, and Keese Koolen’s EVO 4 truck. The highlight of the day for fans was the opportunity to sign Benny, the new truck of Martin Macik Jr. and his crew, and symbolically joining them on their Dakar journey.“Our connection with fans is important to us because their incredible support keeps us going. That’s why we always give them the opportunity to sign our truck so they can take part in Dakar with us. It’s great to see so many of them here again this year, and I hope this year’s Dakar will be at least as successful as the last,” joked Martin Macik Jr., last year’s truck category winner.
The new truck is ready for battle
Both fans and the vehicles took center stage at the event. The black-and-white truck called Benny underwent only minor improvements after its victory at the Rallye du Maroc and is ready to compete for top rankings in the Dakar. This year, the competition will be tough, with the Sedlcanytechnology center also sending Benny’s sister trucks to the field.“We tested everything we needed in Morocco. Benny performed excellently, so we only made small tweaks. We’re also happy with the Prometeon tyres, which held up in the toughest terrains. This year, MM Technology is sending more trucks to Dakar, including the other three EVO 4 trucks and last year’s winner – Cenda. It’s going to be an exciting battle,” said mechanic David Svanda.
Spring will bring Dakar obsessed talkshow
No matter the outcome of the Dakar Rally 2025 for the team with number 600 on their truck, one thing is certain – fans will meet them again during February, March, and April as part of the “Dakar Obsessed Talkshow” tour. Dakar enthusiasts can look forward to both serious and humorous stories from the toughest rally, as Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek, and David Svanda tour nearly the entire country.
“I can’t wait to see what happens this time. We’re sure to experience a ton of interesting and funny moments, and we’ll share them all with fans in the spring,” said navigator Frantisek Tomasek, looking forward to the tour.
