The winning campaign of Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda continues. Together with their truck Frank, they took another gold for their collection from Baja Aragon. The first three places in the final standings were taken by trucks from MM Technology.

A successful start

This year’s Baja Aragon started on the 26th of July with a prologue, which determined the order in which the competitors would start the race. The MM Technology factory crew took to the track with the number 800 and in qualifying Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda finished first. “The start was a bit tough, but we stepped it up and won the qualifying. We are happy that the other trucks from our workshop did well too.”, says pilot Martin Macik Jr.

Frank flew like in the old days

The last time Frank competed in a race was in 2022 at Baja Aragon. So, it seems that the Spanish landscape suits him, as he won the first and second stages with the MM Technology crew. “Saturday continued very nicely for us. We covered a total of 260 km, although the second part was very technical, narrow and rocky. In addition, we also passed significantly newer trucks, so I am happy.”, comments Martin Macik Jr. Navigator Frantisek Tomasek adds: “We had a great ride! And most importantly, we didn’t get lost. There were a lot of fans all around the track, which is great to see, so thank you very much to everyone for your support, you push us forward.”

The last stage decided the winner

Sunday’s programme included the last stage covering 100 km, which followed the same route as the second stage. Although the MM Technology factory team did not win it due to a tyre change, they defended the overall first place together with Frank. “Baja Aragon is one of our favourite races and I really enjoyed it driving-wise. With Frank, it was a bit of a return to the old school, but you must work hard, and we did until the end. It wasn’t an easy victory, which makes me appreciate it even more”, says Martin Macik Jr. at the finish line. Mechanic David Svanda adds: “The machinery worked well and even though I am looking forward to riding in the new truck, I just have to praise Frank.” The race was also a success for the orange crew in terms of navigation. “For me it was a beautiful race. It was tough in the third stage, it was dusty, but we already remembered some of the sections, so we found some time over our rivals there. We squeezed the best out of ourselves, and it worked out,”concludes navigator Frantisek Tomasek.

MM Technology trucks take the medals

All six trucks from MM Technology, which took to the start line, did well in the race. They all finished Baja Aragon and three of them, led by Frank, took the top places. MM Technology, as the constructor, therefore won all three medals. “This is a huge achievement for us and a sign that we are doing what we do well. Congratulations to all the crews for their great results and many thanks for the trust they have placed in our trucks,” concludes Martin Macik Sr. on MM Technology’s spectacular Spanish journey.

Meeting the crew in the Prerov Gorge

Fans can symbolically pat both the crew and Frank on the back on the 10th of August in the Prerov Gorge. The biggest Dakar meeting on Czech soil called Dakar Obsessed OPEN AIR will take place here, and visitors can look forward to seeing both Czech and foreign crews and their machines.
