MM Technology has revealed the successor to the victorious truck called Cenda and a new collaboration with Prometeon Tyre Group – a global leading company in the development, production, and marketing of tyres for the commercial, Agro, and OTR sectors. Martin Macik Jr. and his crew will defend their title with the new EVO 4 truck called Benny, the Big Guy. It will make its first rally appearance in October at the Rallye du Maroc, alongside another truck from MM Technology, both using Prometeon tyres.

Macik’s new EVO 4 truck has a Czech name

Following their historic success at Dakar 2024, MM Technology will go on to defend their title with a new truck, officially designated as EVO 4. This latest evolution of rally trucks is represented by three “brothers”, one of which was developed for the factory crew. “We wanted a purely Czech name for it, so it’s Bohous in Czech which we translate to English as Benny. I believe I speak for everyone in the team when I say that we are looking forward to seeing it and its new design in action,” says pilot Martin Macik Jr.

A strong partnership for further success

The new design marks a new significant partnership with new tyre supplier, Prometeon, whose tyres have already been tested by the team in the past. “We perceive Prometeon as a strong technological partner with whose support we can successfully develop better and better rally machines. I believe that together we will achieve significant success,” says Martin Macik Sr., head of development at MM Technology, about the partnership with Prometeon. No rally machine that aspires to victory in the toughest rallies can do it without quality tyres, as Martin Macik Jr. is well aware, and he adds: “In rough terrain and at our race pace, you can’t do without proper tyres. They connect the truck to the ground and can often decide the outcome of not only a stage, but the whole race. We’ve had years of hard work and success with the whole team, but we still want to push on. That’s why I’m delighted that we have partnered with Prometeon, a tyre supplier that aligns perfectly with what we need.” Prometeon tyres will be used not only by the aforementioned Benny, the Big Guy, but also by another truck from MM Technology.
“We are excited to become the partner of choice of MM Technology and provide our Serie 02 tyres for Benny, the Big Guy. Our solutions are engineered for top-tier performance, especially in the most challenging rally conditions. We look forward to supporting MM Technology in their pursuit of victory on the toughest terrains” said Roberto Righi, CEO of Prometeon Tyre Group.

First sharp test is coming in October

Fans don’t have to wait too long for the first rally start. Immediately after the new trucks are launched, they will be put to the test at the Rallye du Maroc, which starts with a prologue on 6thOctober. “It will be like a small Dakar for us. We want to bring home the best possible result, of course, but we are mainly approaching this as the first real opportunity to test the new EVO 4 trucks in rally conditions. We will focus mainly on the technical development and see how high we can go in the final standings”, says David Svanda, MM Technology race mechanic.

Will there be a golden Dakar again?

What’s in the cards for MM Technology and Benny is still a question. However, one thing is already very clear. Thanks to the newly established partnership with technological partner Prometeon, not only the factory crew, but also other trucks from Sedlcany are on the right track. And there will be a lot of them competing in Dakar 2025. In fact, there will be more MM Technology trucks than before. This prestigious race will start on 3rd January 2025 in Saudi Arabia and already promises interesting battles for the highest positions.
