The new MM Technology EVO 4 truck – Benny – proved its worth during Rallye du Maroc. The factory crew consisting of Martin Macik Jr., Frantisek Tomasek and David Svanda won all five stages and therefore took another valuable victory home from Morocco. Second new truck from MM Technology, belonging to Kees Koolen, finished the rally in second place.
Benny overcame all challenges
After a successful Rallye du Maroc, the MM Technology factory crew consisting of pilot Martin Macik Jr., navigator Frantisek Tomasek and mechanic David Svanda cannot praise Benny enough. The new EVO 4 truck showed what it can do and was not held back by any kind of terrain. “I trusted Benny from the beginning, but I didn’t dare to assume that he would carry us to victory. Besides the joy of the first place, we are taking home a lot of knowledge that we will use to fine-tune the truck a bit more before the Dakar. But I can already say that I am looking forward to the Dakar Rally with Benny and of course with tyres made by Prometeon Tyre Group. They did a great job!” says Martin Macik Jr. after crossing the finish line.
The road to victory was not easy
Although Benny made it through the whole rally without wavering, it was not an easy journey. The trio in the black and white truck struggled with navigational trials and difficult terrain. “There were definitely some hiccups, for example in the fourth stage we took a wrong turn and were overtaken by Kees Koolen in the second EVO 4,” recalls navigator Frantisek Tomasek. Mechanic David Svanda then speaks about the hard terrain: “We were jumping and landing quite hard at times, especially in the dunes and riverbeds, which were very rough after the heavy rains. So occasionally I was worried about Benny. But he pulled it off very well, and the Prometeon tyres did a fantastic job too, so I’m happy.”
Next stop: The Dakar
As early as November, Benny and other vehicles will leave for Barcelona, where they will undergo scrutineering before the Dakar Rally. On this occasion, of course, the traditional meeting with MM Technology fans in Sedlcany square will take place. “Without the support of our fans we would not be where we are. So not only do we want to thank them for pushing us forward during Rallye du Maroc, but we also want to meet them in person. And then it’s off to the Dakar, followed by a tour of talk shows called ‘Dakar Obsessed’, for which tickets will soon be available”, says Martin Macik Jr.
