Two weeks on the absolute limit, tons of sand under our fingernails, the scorching African sun, and mechanics working late into the night to squeeze every bit of data out of the Tunisian dunes for the development of new MMT truck.
Testing in the desert is not just about fast flybys in front of camera lenses – it’s mainly about the uncompromising hard work of the entire team, dust, sweat, and the great group of people that came together in Africa this year. We want to give you something extra – a selection of 8 behind-the-scenes snapshots straight from our desert workshop.
To be honest, you almost didn’t get these photos at all, because during the midnight data transfer, a lady in a nightgown stormed out of her tent and forced our media crew to shut down the generator, cutting off the internet completely!
And that was just the beginning of the chaos – our mechanic “Hujer” went for a quick drive with Frantisek Brutovsky, and despite knowing the desert perfectly, they returned hours later with bananas in hand and snow on their shoes, coming from a completely different direction after a 250km detour where we frantically searched for them.
